No, you can book a visit without a referral. Without a referral from a family physician there can be a fee for your visit as we are not 100% covered by Alberta Healthcare.
How often should I replace my child’s orthotics?
Usually, the orthotics need to be replaced when the child’s foot has grown two sizes.

First of all, focus on your feet, and not on the shoes. Go shopping in the afternoon, when your feet are often a little swollen, so you won’t risk buying shoes that are too small. You should also try the shoes on both feet: many people have one foot that’s larger than the other, and it’s important to buy a pair that fits the larger foot.
